![]() 410 back in the late 1950's, 1st shot of any fire arm actually. Luckily I have several hundred in various configurations from many years ago, so I won't need to buy any anytime soon. The only drawback is the price of shells, as mentioned above. It is not a useless gun, as some have mentioned, if used within the limitations of the gauge. I've been usin this shotgun for over 30 years, and would absolutely recommend a. I shoot #6 shot from a 3" shell, with a full choke, and can put 4 or 5 pellets in a beer can at 40 yards. It's easy on the ears, and just as deadly as a 12 or 20 when within range, without shreddin the tender vittles. You're just simply not gonna get a shot any farther than the gun can shoot under these conditions. 410 w/a 26" bbl, almost exclusively for tree rats, especially when the trees are leafed up. My vote is get one, depending on what you're gonna use it for.Īlthough I have shottys in every gauge made, I still use my old single shot Harrington & Richardson.
